We have provided approved inspector services for new storage buildings and extensions and alterations to existing buildings.  These have included self storage, high bay warehouses, car parks, mezzanine floors, etc.

Storage buildings are similar in most respects to industrial and factory type buildings.  However, they do have some issues that may be overlooked or not assessed correctly with regard to Part L compliance.  These may include the requirement to comply with the energy efficiency requirements when a building is not intended to be heated and the requirement for air testing and SBEM calculations.
