Assembly and Recreation

We have provided approved inspector services for alterations and extensions to existing buildings and new buildings with assembly and recreational type uses. These include schools, universities, leisure centres, golf clubs, village halls, art galleries, churches, etc.

Assembly and recreational use buildings tend to have the potential for higher occupancy and this is often proven to be a problem with existing buildings where fire strategy planning has not be considered in detail in the past.  This higher occupancy means that the fire safety requirements and strategy will require careful planning and assessment if the building is to be suitable for its intended use on completion.  Additionally, this type of building is likely to be open to the public and have more onerous requirements in terms of access and facilities for the disabled.
